“Holly Hitchhiked Her Way Across the U.S.A”.

At 3:06 PM PST today Holly Woodlawn, the Warhol Superstar, passed away at Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles.  She was a Movie Star!

As a teen growing up on Long Island the Andy Warhol Factory scene and the Paul Morrissey films were the ultimate expression of total abandon. Holly, Candy Darling, Jane Forth, Andrea Feldman, Taylor Meade, Joe Dallesandro, etc. were celluloid gods unlike any others. Their films, TRASH, FLESH, HEAT, WOMEN IN REVOLT, etc. were of-the-moment documents of NYC in the 1970’s. They, for better or worse, helped shaped my life and my love for the bizarrely beautiful.

RIP Holly Woodlawn 1946-2015
